Lakewood of Strathmore made a significant step towards enhancing community life with the groundbreaking ceremony for its first public park, Brave Park. The three-acre site will serve as a community hub for all of Strathmore, offering a variety of recreational amenities for residents to enjoy.
Scott Silva, Director of Sales and Marketing for Lakewood of Strathmore, shared details about the park’s features, including a large open programmable space for activities like soccer and frisbee, a playground, and a pickleball court. One of the park’s standout features is its technological advancements, with plans to provide free Wi-Fi throughout the park in partnership with Shaw.
The name Brave Park was chosen to honor the courage and bravery of community heroes, including fallen soldiers, officers, frontline workers, and Indigenous ancestors. The park will feature a monument and informational boards highlighting the stories of these individuals.
Despite the park’s ambitious design, construction is expected to be completed within six months, with a target completion date by the end of the year. The park’s development has been years in the making, and the team is excited to see their vision come to life.
In addition to the park’s amenities, Lakewood of Strathmore is also supporting the #NotinmyCity initiative, which fights against human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Every sale of a Lakewood home will donate $1000 to this cause, demonstrating the community’s commitment to making a positive impact.
