Student-Athlete Spotlight: Aidian Martin, UW-Whitewater Men’s Soccer

UW-Whitewater Junior Aidian Martin Featured in WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight

Each week during the 2024-25 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will shine a spotlight on two student-athletes, one male and one female, from one of its eight institutions. This week, the spotlight is on Aidian Martin, a junior at UW-Whitewater and a standout on the men’s soccer team.

Originally from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Aidian transferred to UW-Whitewater after his freshman year. He was drawn to the school by the strong business program and the opportunity to play soccer under Coach Guinn. Despite a season-ending injury last year, Aidian is back on the field with sophomore eligibility and ready to make an impact.

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Aidian is also involved in the Pickleball Club on campus. He loves the competitive nature of the WIAC and the opportunity to face off against other UW schools.

When asked about his favorite things, Aidian shared that he loves Culver’s Butterburgers and Cheese Curds, as well as anything Oreo or mint flavored. He enjoys spending time at the Center of the Arts sub place on campus and watching Game of Thrones in his free time.

Aidian’s greatest sports moment was scoring his first collegiate goal, and he enjoys watching football and golfing with his teammates off the field. He looks up to his dad, Ian Martin, and offers advice to younger student-athletes to keep working hard and having fun.

Describing himself as charismatic, Aidian’s dream job is to own his own accounting firm. His bucket list includes traveling to every country in Europe, watching England win the World Cup, and living in London for at least five years.

Aidian’s non-athletic talent is talking to other people’s parents and grandparents, and he always tapes his wrist before every soccer match as a pre-game ritual.

The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight is a great way to showcase the talented and dedicated student-athletes within the conference, and Aidian Martin is certainly a shining example of that. Stay tuned for more spotlights in the weeks to come.
