Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Vicki Walsh has announced a new six-week youth pickleball program starting July 15, 2025, at Ellsworth Allen Park in Farmingdale, New York. Open to children ages 8 to 17, the lessons will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings and grouped by age to provide tailored instruction for beginners and experienced players alike. Registration opened June 9, with fees set at $75 for residents and $90 for non-residents, and participants must bring their own paddles while other equipment is provided.
The program aims to promote physical fitness, socialization, teamwork, and strategic thinking among youth, supporting Oyster Bay’s broader commitment to community wellness and youth sports. By offering structured, age-appropriate lessons, the town hopes to encourage more children to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the growing sport of pickleball throughout the summer.
