World’s First Floating Pickleball Court Debuts at Mirada Lagoon in Florida

Posted In:

Mirada Lagoon in San Antonio, Florida, has introduced the world’s first regulation-size floating pickleball court, called Pickleball Bana, designed by AquaBanas and installed in June. Despite initial doubts about stability and gameplay on water, the court offers a stable playing surface surrounded by netted walls to keep balls and players safe. The unique setup includes covered seating and viewing platforms, enhancing the experience for both serious players and families enjoying the lagoon’s other amenities.

The floating court has been highly popular, prompting an extension of its availability through Labor Day Weekend. Sessions cost $10 for groups of up to eight, with lagoon admission required separately. Metro Lagoons, the owner of Mirada Lagoon—the largest man-made lagoon in the U.S.—is considering making the floating pickleball court a permanent feature due to its success and positive guest feedback. Alongside pickleball, visitors can enjoy a water obstacle course, slides, kayaks, paddleboards, and a beach area.
