West Bend West Graduates Found UW-Madison Pickleball Club: From Casual Play to Competitive Success
The Chemer siblings, Cassidy, Taylor, and Lola, have made waves at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with their passion for pickleball. What started as a family hobby introduced by their grandpa has now turned into a thriving club sport on campus.
The trio founded the UW-Madison Pickleball Club in 2022, with the goal of bringing together students who shared their love for the sport. Despite facing initial challenges in securing funding and approval for the club, their dedication has paid off. The club now boasts over 30 members and has officially become a UW-Madison club sport.
Their hard work and perseverance have not gone unnoticed, as the club recently had the opportunity to compete as a traveling team for the first time. This year, they will be sending a team to the DUPR Collegiate National Championships in Dallas, Texas, with Lola representing the club.
The Chemer siblings are proud of how far the club has come in such a short time and are excited to see where the future takes them. The growth of the UW-Madison Pickleball Club is a testament to their passion for the sport and their dedication to building a community of pickleball enthusiasts on campus.
