Visalia Pickleball Center Set to Open in April 2025
Exciting news for pickleball enthusiasts in Visalia as a new 46,000-square-foot indoor pickleball center is on track to open to the public in April 2025. The center, located at 702 S. Bridge St., will feature 18 courts and is currently under construction.
The project, spearheaded by building owner and developer Johnny George of J.F. George Enterprises, Inc., has seen some key changes since its inception. Originally planned to tear down a building to make room for the center, the project will now utilize existing buildings on the site for the facility.
Pickleball, described as the fastest-growing sport in America today, has seen a surge in popularity with over 20 million people playing the game. George, who admits he is not a sportsman, saw an opportunity to bring pickleball to Visalia and enhance the community.
The new pickleball center will not only offer top-notch courts but also amenities such as a café serving energy foods, a pro shop selling equipment, lockers, and even roll-out bleachers for tournaments. The courts will feature non-slip pavement in two-tone blue with tan accents and high-screen mesh fencing.
Membership options and court rental fees are still being determined, but George is also considering adding cornhole to the facility if space allows. This project is just the latest in a series of civic endeavors for George, who has a history of contributing to the community through various projects.
As Visalia’s pickleball center nears completion, residents can look forward to a state-of-the-art facility that promises to enhance the pickleball experience for players of all levels.
