Vexma Technologies in India has developed a new 3D printed pickleball using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology, aiming to improve upon traditional manufacturing methods like injection and rotational molding. Traditional pickleballs often suffer from issues such as fragility, excessive noise, material waste, and poor control over spin and speed. Vexma’s 3D printed ball addresses these problems by being lighter, stronger, quieter, and more durable, with enhanced precision and impact absorption that improves player control and extends the ball’s lifespan.
This innovation highlights the growing role of 3D printing in sports equipment manufacturing, offering benefits like reduced waste, consistent quality, and tailored performance features. Vexma’s project demonstrates how additive manufacturing can create nearly indestructible sports gear that better meets athletes’ needs, potentially inspiring other brands to adopt similar technologies for longer-lasting, higher-performing products.
