UConn Women’s Pickleball Team Wins DUPR Campus Regional Title
The UConn women’s pickleball team emerged victorious in a thrilling match against the University of Maine to clinch the DUPR Campus Regional title in Stamford. The tournament, which featured eight colleges and 75 collegiate players, saw UConn’s Julia Rose and Emma Lynch secure a win in the women’s doubles match, while the men’s team faced a tough loss in their doubles match.
With the series tied at 1-1, UConn rallied to secure a win in mixed doubles, ultimately sealing the title with a final mixed doubles victory led by Team Captain Heather Kim. Kim expressed her pride in representing UConn and helping the team secure a spot at the DUPR Nationals in April.
The tournament also featured various sponsors and UConn alumni volunteers, highlighting the growing support for collegiate pickleball. Kim commended the talent on display and the sport’s continued growth, emphasizing UConn’s strong performance and anticipation for the upcoming Nationals.
