Exciting Action at the Fort Lauderdale Open: APP Tour Recap and Results

The Fort Lauderdale Open hosted by the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) kicked off the 2025 season in style at the brand new facility “The Fort.” The 43-court facility, which opened at the beginning of January, saw top players and fans gather for a weekend of intense competition.

In the Men’s Pro Singles division, top-ranked Christopher Haworth emerged victorious after a tough battle against Grayson Goldin in the final. Haworth’s superior court coverage and skill secured him the gold, with Goldin taking silver and Ammar Wazir claiming bronze.

On the Women’s side, Megan Fudge showcased her dominance by winning two gold medals in both the Women’s Pro Singles and Women’s Pro Doubles events. Fudge’s strategic play and experience helped her overcome tough opponents, including Sofia Sewing in the singles final.

In the Mixed Pro Doubles category, the team of Jill Braverman and Will Howells clinched the gold after a commanding performance throughout the tournament. Braverman’s power and accuracy, combined with Howells’ skill, proved to be a winning combination.

The Men’s Pro Doubles final saw a thrilling match between the top-seeded team of Howells and Jack Munro against Eric Lange and Max Manthou. Howells and Munro’s energy and teamwork secured them the gold in a closely contested match.

In the Women’s Pro Doubles event, Fudge and Braverman continued their winning streak by claiming the gold after a hard-fought battle against Yana Newell and Harris. Braverman’s left-sided power play proved to be a key factor in their victory.

Overall, the Fort Lauderdale Open provided fans with exciting matches and showcased the talent and skill of the top pickleball players on the tour. With the next event scheduled in Daytona Beach, the APP tour promises more thrilling action in the coming weeks.
