Borneo Pickleball International Tournament 2024 Concludes with Exciting Finale at Pikabol
The Borneo Pickleball International Tournament 2024 (BPIT) concluded with a bang at Pikabol – Malaysia’s Pickleball Powerhouse on October 14th, 2024. The four-day tournament showcased the best pickleball players from the region, competing in various categories with skill and sportsmanship.
Paragon SG emerged as the Champions in the Team Event, with Paragon Perfecto securing the Runner-Up spot. The ESM Voltage Vipers Pickleball claimed 3rd place, and Dayak Daily Berami proudly took 4th place. The competition was fierce, with over 500 athletes participating in team and individual categories, including Mixed Doubles Veteran and Novice Doubles.
The winners were honored in a grand awards ceremony, with YB Datuk Snowdan Lawan presenting the medals on stage. The tournament also featured a total prize pool of RM20,650, alongside trophies, medals, and exclusive prizes sponsored by Skechers and Starbucks.
BPIT 2024 was made possible thanks to the support of sponsors like Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Sarawak Energy Berhad, WTK, Starbucks, and more. The tournament received endorsements from Malaysia Pickleball Association and Sarawak Pickleball Association, as well as support from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ruslan Bujang, Chairman of BPIT 2024, expressed gratitude to the tournament’s partners and highlighted the growth of sports tourism in Sarawak. With the success of the 2024 edition, anticipation is already building for the next BPIT, as pickleball continues to gain popularity in Malaysia and beyond.
