As the excitement builds for the inaugural 2024 Tokyo E-Prix, Hollywood actor Sung Kang, known for his role in the Fast and Furious franchise, recently had the opportunity to get a firsthand look at Formula E’s Gen3 cars. The actor, who is a self-proclaimed supercar enthusiast, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership between Formula E and Tokyo, citing the city’s technological advancements as the perfect backdrop for the event.
Kang, who gained fame for his portrayal of Han Lue in the Fast and Furious series, was thrilled to be a part of the build-up to the historic race in Tokyo. During his visit, he was given a special tour of the Gen3 cars, showcasing the cutting-edge technology and innovation that Formula E represents.
In a video shared by Formula E on Instagram, Kang praised the collaboration between Tokyo and Formula E, describing it as a “perfect combination” of a postmodern city and a postmodern motorsport. He highlighted Tokyo’s focus on the future in areas such as food, fashion, and technology, making it an ideal match for Formula E’s mission of pushing boundaries and reaching new heights.
One of the highlights of Kang’s visit was posing alongside the Liberty Walk GEN3 car, which will be on display at the Allianz Fan Village during the 2024 Tokyo E-Prix. The car, inspired by Japan’s street racing culture and the anime series Future GPX Cyber Formula, adds an extra touch of excitement to the event.
The 2024 Tokyo E-Prix is set to kick off on March 29 with the first free practice session, followed by the second free practice, qualifying round, and the main race on March 30.
