1st Annual Serving Hope Community Pickleball Tournament to Benefit Local Nonprofits and Families

Local Nonprofits Join Forces for 1st Annual Serving Hope Community Pickleball Tournament

Statesville, NC – Three long-serving local nonprofit organizations are teaming up to present the 1st Annual Serving Hope Community Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, March 15, at Caldwell Park in Statesville. G4G Ministries, Foundation of Hope Ministries, and the Boys & Girls Club of the Piedmont are partnering for this charitable fundraising event, with all proceeds going towards community-based services for children and families in marginalized neighborhoods in the Statesville area.

The Statesville Police Department has also joined the effort as a community partner agency, providing security, parking control, and distributing free resource materials and information to attendees at the event. Matt Murdock, youth pastor at Troutman Baptist Church and tournament director, expressed his excitement to support these organizations that provide vital support services to those in need in the community.

The tournament will feature men’s and women’s doubles divisions with brackets for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skill levels. Registration is $40 per player and includes lunch provided by G4G. An online silent auction and split-the-pot drawing will also be held to support the event.

Cory Knight, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club, expressed gratitude for the partnership with G4G Ministries and Foundation of Hope Ministries, highlighting their joint efforts in sponsoring the Community Fun Day event in the past. This day-long field day experience at the Boys & Girls Club campus has been a summer highlight for many children in the community.

Event sponsors, players, and volunteers are being recruited for the tournament.
