Vietnamese Pair Sophia Huynh Tran and Ho Tam Win Gold at PPA Tour Australia – Vietnam Open 2024
The PPA Tour Australia – Vietnam Open 2024 pickleball tournament witnessed an intense final match in the mixed doubles category, where the pair Sophia Huynh Tran and Ho Tam faced tough competition from the Taiwanese duo Hsuan Tsai and Maggie Chang.
Initially, Sophia Huynh Tran and Ho Tam took the lead with a strong performance in the first set, ending with a score of 2-1. However, Hsuan Tsai and Maggie Chang fought back in the second set, leveling the score at 11-11 and securing a 2-1 win.
The deciding game was a nail-biter, with both pairs giving their all to clinch the victory. In the end, the Vietnamese pair maintained their composure and emerged victorious with a score of 9-2 (1-11, 0-8, 11-11), claiming the gold medal.
Sophia Huynh Tran, also known as “Vietnam’s Sharapova,” showcased her talent and skill once again, adding another accolade to her impressive career. She has been making waves in the pickleball world, recently winning the mixed doubles and women’s doubles Advance category at the Asian Pickleball Championship.
The PPA Tour Australia – Vietnam Open 2024 tournament has brought together 254 players from various countries, competing in different categories and age groups. The event has been a platform for players to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
In addition to Sophia Huynh Tran and Ho Tam’s victory, two other members of the Sypik Team, Truong Vinh Hien and Trinh Linh Giang, also excelled in the professional men’s singles event, securing two silver and a bronze medal.
