Sherwood Park’s New Peak Athletic Centre to Offer Year-Round Indoor Pickleball and Volleyball Courts

Sherwood Park is set to welcome the Peak Athletic Centre, a new 10,000-square-foot indoor sports facility offering year-round volleyball and pickleball. Opening with a soft launch on August 25 and a grand opening on September 6, the centre features three volleyball or four pickleball courts equipped with advanced training technology like video delay and radar speed guns, alongside community spaces such as a team room and reception area. The facility aims to fill a local gap, providing dedicated indoor courts for volleyball—a rapidly growing sport in the region—and enabling the pickleball community to play throughout the winter months.

Owned by Chris Dafoe, whose passion for the sport and coaching inspired the project, Peak Athletic Centre prioritizes affordability and accessibility, offering sponsorships to support families and youth participation. Director Jaime Peters highlights the centre’s role in fostering community connections and meeting the demand for indoor sports facilities in Sherwood Park. Success for the centre will be measured by high community engagement, strong local partnerships, and the lasting impact of providing inclusive, year-round athletic opportunities.
