Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District Opens Indoor Recreation Center at Serpilio Hall
The Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District has made a dream a reality with the opening of an indoor recreation center at Serpilio Hall on the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy. This new facility is the first of its kind in the area and is set to provide a safe and fun environment for local youth and families.
Equipped with board games, recreational equipment, and a removable wood laminate floor with markings for various sports, the center will offer adult-supervised after-school fun for kids on school days. Recreation coordinator Nicole Kochanowski is excited to provide a space where kids can come after school for games, snacks, and socializing.
In addition to after-school activities, the center will also offer a full schedule of athletic activities for all ages during the winter months. From basketball and volleyball to pickleball and roller skating, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The idea for the indoor recreation center came about due to a lack of indoor spaces for kids to play during the winter months. With the support of the fairgrounds and the sale of part of its property to Plumas Charter School, the Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District was able to make this vision a reality.
As the center continues to expand its programs and activities, it will serve as a hub for the community to come together, meet new people, and stay active during the colder months. With a dedicated team of staff members like recreation supervisor Jacob Walke leading the way, the future looks bright for the indoor recreation center at Serpilio Hall.
