Winners of Inaugural Pickleball Tournament Crowned in Negombo
The inaugural Pickleball Tournament held on the newly opened Pickleball courts in Negombo saw some intense competition as players battled it out for the top honors. Sankha Atukorale emerged victorious in the Men’s Singles category in the Advanced division, showcasing his skills and determination on the court.
On the other hand, Aneesha Lahir claimed the Women’s Singles title in the Intermediate division, displaying her prowess and agility in the game. The tournament, which was hosted by Pipinya Negombo & Jetwing Hotels, attracted over 50 entries and featured a total of 145 matches across various categories.
In the Women’s Doubles category, Aneesha Lahir and Amani Haniffa teamed up to secure the top spot, while Enon Croos and Enrique Engman clinched the Men’s Doubles title in the Intermediate division. The Mixed Doubles category in the Advanced division saw Sankha Atukorale and Mehenaz Zaveer emerge victorious, showcasing their teamwork and coordination on the court.
