San Antonians will soon have the opportunity to experience the thrill of pickleball like never before with the opening of a state-of-the-art indoor facility in the Alamo City. Dill Dinkers, a popular pickleball chain, is set to open its first indoor location in San Antonio’s Blanco Market Shopping Center on Friday, April 18.
The new 15,500-square-foot facility, located at 18450 Blanco Road, Suite No. 101, will cater to pickleballers of all ages and experience levels. With LED lighting, individually fenced courts with ProCushion surfaces, and smart court technology, this location promises to provide a top-notch pickleball experience for players in the area.
But Dill Dinkers’ plans for San Antonio don’t stop there. The local entrepreneurs and U.S. Air Force veterans behind the venture, Brian and Karen Birdy, have ambitious plans to open 20 Dill Dinker locations in the greater San Antonio area. This includes a second, even larger indoor facility near the University of Texas at San Antonio campus, featuring 10 indoor courts within a 24,000-square-foot space.
Brian Birdy emphasized the community-building aspect of pickleball, calling it “more than a sport” and “a way to bring people together.” With the opening of Dill Dinkers’ indoor facilities, players in San Antonio will have a dedicated space to connect, stay active, and enjoy the game year-round.
The soft opening period for Dill Dinkers-Blanco Market will run from April 18 to April 25, with memberships available for purchase starting at $400 annually.
