The Rotary Club of Mercer Island is hosting its inaugural Pickleball Tournament fundraiser from August 22 to 24 at Luther Burbank Park to celebrate the park’s eight new pickleball courts. The event will feature daily matches in women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and men’s doubles, with gold, silver, and bronze playoffs. Registration costs $75 per person until August 13 and $90 afterward, with a food truck available on-site during the event.

Proceeds from the tournament will support youth mental health through The Scooty Fund, a nonprofit honoring a Mercer Island graduate, as well as other charitable causes including cancer research, food and housing support, and clean water initiatives. Emphasizing community engagement and global impact, the fundraiser embodies Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” by combining sport with philanthropy to improve lives locally and abroad.
