Introducing the Fulton Dream Courts: A New Inclusive Space for Community Recreation and Engagement

Fulton Community Basketball (FCB) is making dreams come true with the opening of the Fulton Dream Courts, a state-of-the-art outdoor facility designed to provide inclusive recreational opportunities for the entire community. From youth basketball programs to open court time for the public and even pickleball for community members of all ages, the Dream Courts are set to become a hub of activity and engagement in Fulton.

The idea for the Dream Courts was born three years ago during the height of the COVID pandemic, when access to indoor facilities was limited. FCB saw a need for a space that would not only cater to youth basketball players but also provide recreational opportunities for adults and senior citizens. After securing funding from the Jim & Juli Boeheim Foundation and the Richard S. Shineman Foundation, along with private donations, the Dream Courts are now ready to open their doors to the community.

FCB President Sean Broderick expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “Great things come to those who wait, and we’ve had to be very patient through this process of building not only the footprint of the courts themselves, but the vision of what we wanted these Dream Courts to be for our community. That patience is now coming to fruition as we open the Fulton Dream Courts.”

Mayor of Fulton Jim Rice is also thrilled about the impact the Dream Courts will have on the community, emphasizing the partnership between FCB and the City of Fulton. “We’re glad to partner with Fulton Community Basketball to make this happen. They have a partner in the City of Fulton and we’re all glad to be part of it,” Mayor Rice said.

With hopes of sparking further development on the War Memorial campus, FCB sees the Dream Courts as just the beginning of a larger vision for the area. “We have great leadership in our city right now and I know they are doing everything they can to leverage our Dream Courts as just phase one of the development of our lakefront,” the organization stated. “With a campus containing infrastructure for various sports and recreational activities, we feel that this whole area is poised for additional development and economic growth.”

The Fulton Dream Courts are set to become a cornerstone of community engagement and recreation in Fulton, providing a space for residents of all ages to come together and enjoy the benefits of sports and physical activity.
