Introducing the Fulton Dream Courts: A New Inclusive Space for Community Recreation and Engagement

Fulton Community Basketball (FCB) is making dreams come true with the grand opening of the Fulton Dream Courts, a state-of-the-art outdoor facility designed to provide inclusive recreational opportunities for the entire community.

Three years in the making, the idea for the Dream Courts was born out of a need for accessible and engaging recreational activities for youth during the COVID-19 pandemic. FCB President Sean Broderick envisioned a space that would not only cater to basketball players but also offer opportunities for community members of all ages, including pickleball for adults and seniors.

With the support of the Jim & Juli Boeheim Foundation and other generous donors, FCB was able to bring this vision to life. The foundation’s donation kickstarted the project and inspired additional grant funding, including a significant matching challenge grant from the Richard S. Shineman Foundation.

“We are thrilled to support this worthy project that will serve the Fulton community in such a positive way,” Jim and Juli Boeheim said. “There is no one better than Sean Broderick to head this initiative. Our communities are fortunate to have his support and vision of the Fulton Dream Courts that will bless those it serves.”

Now, as the Dream Courts open their doors to the public, Broderick is excited to see the impact the facility will have on the community. “Great things come to those who wait, and we’ve had to be very patient through this process of building not only the footprint of the courts themselves, but the vision of what we wanted these Dream Courts to be for our community,” Broderick said.

Mayor of Fulton Jim Rice is also looking forward to the positive effects the Dream Courts will have on the community. “I think the Dream Courts will have a big impact on our community,” Rice said. “We’re glad to partner with Fulton Community Basketball to make this happen. They have a partner in the City of Fulton and we’re all glad to be part of it.”

FCB hopes that the Dream Courts project will not only benefit the community but also spark further development in the area. With plans for additional enhancements to the War Memorial campus, including infrastructure for various sports and recreational activities, the organization believes that the entire campus is poised for growth and economic development.

As the Fulton Dream Courts open their doors, the community can look forward to a new era of inclusive recreation and engagement for all ages.
