Pickleball Showdown in Hopkinsville: The Big Dill at the Ville Tournament Highlights and Results
The Planters Bank and Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was buzzing with excitement as the Big Dill at the Ville pickleball tournament took place on March 8-9, 2025. This Southern Pickleball Association (SPA) Sanctioned Tournament brought together 68 competitors who battled it out across nine courts in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles events, with skill levels ranging from 2.5 to 4.0.
The stakes were high at this tournament, as winners earned a spot at the prestigious 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships in Macon, Georgia, scheduled for December 31 to January 4.
In the highly competitive 4.0 category, the Gold Medal Winners were Jason Williams and Taylor Myers in Men’s Doubles, Dana Marshall and Meagan York in Women’s Doubles, and Dana Marshall and Jason Williams in Mixed Doubles.
The Silver Medal Winners included Cannon Cornelius and Edwin Moore in Men’s Doubles, Cannon Cornelius and Meagan York in Mixed Doubles, Winnie Smee and Holly Locken in Women’s Doubles, and Rebekah Talbert and Vickie Gamble in the 3.5/4.0 Women’s Doubles category.
Taking home the Bronze Medals were Marty Gamble and Shane Cosby in 3.5 Men’s Doubles, Justin Crawford and Abbi Crawford in 3.5/4.0 Mixed Doubles, and Emily Edwards and Angie Skees in Women’s Doubles.
The tournament also saw notable results with Anna Crawford and Abbi Crawford securing 4th place in 3.5/4.0 Women’s Doubles, Justin Crawford and Austin Loveless in 4.0 Men’s Doubles, and Anna Crawford and Donald Sirls in 3.5/4.0 Mixed Doubles.
The Big Dill at the Ville showcased the talent and competitiveness of the players, drawing in local talent as well as regional competitors. With the Southern Pickleball Championships on the horizon, these athletes are now gearing up for their next challenge in Macon, Georgia.
