Recap of the Pickleball World Cup in Lima: Highlights, Winners, and More
The Pickleball World Cup recently took place in Lima, Peru, and it was a tournament to remember. With over 500 players from 40 countries participating, the event was a true celebration of the sport. Team Puerto Rico emerged as the champions, with local player Bruno Semino being named the Most Valuable Player.
The tournament, which took place on October 26 and 27, saw teams from all over the world competing on the courts made from premium-grade materials. The Pickleball Court United was the official court sponsor, and the balls were provided by Franklin Sports.
India also participated in the tournament, but unfortunately, they were unable to advance past the group stage. Despite a valiant effort against eventual champions Puerto Rico, India fell short in the tiebreaker and were eliminated from the competition.
In the senior category, Indian players Kiran Salian and Nozer Amalsadiwala put up a strong performance, winning silver and bronze in the men’s 50-plus singles 4.0 category, and gold in the men’s doubles 4.0 category.
