Indian Picklers Shine at the Pickleball World Cup: A Look at the Winners
Team Puerto Rico emerged victorious in the recent Pickleball World Cup held in Lima, Peru, showcasing their exceptional skills and dominating the competition. The grand affair saw participation from 500 picklers from 40 countries, with Puerto Rico emerging as the champions.
Among the participants were some eminent Indian picklers who made their mark in the tournament. Led by Dhiren Patel in the Open category, the Indian team also included players like Himansh Mehta, Rakshika Ravi, and Suraj Desai. In the Senior 50+ Category, Nozer Amalsdiwala, Kiran Salian, Bela Kotwani, and Sujay Parekh represented India with pride.
The Indian team brought home several awards from the Pickleball World Cup, with Himansh Mehta winning Gold in Men’s Singles (Open) 5.0, Kiran Salian securing Silver in Men’s 50+ Singles 4.0, and Nozer Amalsadiwala clinching Bronze in the same category. The team also excelled in doubles events, with Himansh Mehta and Suraj Desai winning Silver in Men’s Doubles 5.0, and Kiran Salian and Nozer Amalsadiwala taking home Gold in 50+ Men’s Doubles 4.0.
The overall winners of the Pickleball World Cup included Puerto Rico in the Open category, USA in the Senior category, and Peru in the Fair Play Awards. Individual honors were also awarded, with Bruno Semino from Peru named MVP, Chun-Yu Liu and Arantza Benites receiving the Fair Play Awards, and Jerry Beck from the Cayman Islands recognized as the Best Captain.
