Royal Lepage Frostbite Men’s Doubles Classic Draws Pickleball Players from Across the Province
The Royal Lepage Frostbite Men’s Doubles Classic in Vernon was a smashing success as players from across the province gathered to compete in a thrilling day of pickleball action. Hosted by the Vernon Pickleball Association, the tournament featured 61 teams and 122 players in various divisions and age groups.
Tournament director Richard Chambers praised the high standard of play and the impressive skills on display, especially in the higher skilled divisions. With athletes from the Lower Mainland, the Interior, and local players, the Frostbite Classic was a competitive and exciting event.
The tournament would not have been possible without the hard work of 30 dedicated volunteers who helped keep the event running smoothly. From managing scores to assigning referees, the volunteers played a crucial role in the success of the tournament.
At the end of the day, 10 gold medals were awarded across different skill level divisions. Players like Brad and Bobby Tomlinson, Garth Rowe and Ken Wright, and John Marollano and Danny Lasante took home top honors in their respective divisions.
Looking ahead, the Vernon pickleball facility has more exciting events lined up, including the Royal Lepage Women’s tournament in April, a mixed tournament in May, and the BC Pickleball Championships in July. Pickleball enthusiasts can look forward to more thrilling competition in the months to come.
