The Picklr Expands into Canada with Ambitions for Global Growth by 2025

The Picklr, a popular indoor pickleball franchise backed by former NFL player Drew Brees, is set to make its debut in Canada with the opening of its first location in Toronto in 2025. The franchise has ambitious plans to expand to at least five additional global markets by the end of 2025.

The expansion into Canada comes as part of a master franchise agreement with TPC Development Corporation (TPC), which will be responsible for opening 65 Picklr locations across the country, excluding Quebec. The Picklr’s chief growth officer, Scott Schubiger, expressed excitement about entering the Canadian market, citing the country’s growing interest in pickleball.

With over 390 locations in 42 states, The Picklr has established itself as a leader in the indoor pickleball industry. The franchise plans to open 70 more clubs in 2025, showcasing its commitment to growth and innovation. Additionally, The Picklr recently signed a multi-year deal with Wingfield, a racquet sports tech company, to bring AI-powered video and data tracking systems to all its locations.

Pickleball Kingdom, another indoor pickleball franchise based in the U.S., also has plans to expand into Canada, starting with multiple locations in Ontario. The competition between these franchises is expected to elevate the sport of pickleball in Canada and provide players of all ages and skill levels with top-notch facilities and programming.

As The Picklr and Pickleball Kingdom make their mark in Canada, the future of indoor pickleball in the country looks bright. With experienced partners and a commitment to excellence, these franchises are poised to bring the beloved sport to new heights in the Great White North.
