“Saguaro Slam Pickleball Tournament to Benefit Salvation Army Tucson Amphi Corps Community Center”
The Saguaro Slam Pickleball Tournament is set to kick off 2025 with a bang, all for a good cause. Pickleball enthusiasts of all ages are invited to participate in the tournament on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club. The goal is to raise at least $20,000 for the Salvation Army Tucson Amphi Corps Community Center, which provides after-school programming and summer camps for children in need.
Event chair Ryan Maese, a pickleball player and member of the Advisory Council for the Amphi Corps, expressed his excitement about combining the pickleball craze with a charitable cause. The Salvation Army Tucson Amphi Corps, along with its other branches, works tirelessly to support the community through various programs and initiatives.
The tournament will feature a mixed-doubles Round Robin format, with medals awarded to winners in different age brackets. Even if you can’t play, you can still support the cause by making a donation online. Every little bit helps in making a difference in the lives of children and families in need.
Donal Drayne, a longtime member of the Amphi Corps Advisory Council, emphasized the importance of giving back and supporting organizations like the Salvation Army. He encourages people of all ages to get involved and make a positive impact in their communities.
So mark your calendars for the Saguaro Slam Pickleball Tournament and join in on the fun while supporting a great cause. Let’s rally together to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
