Community Unites for Safer Schools: Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser Set for April 2025
Coconut Creek, FL — In a spirited effort to promote school safety, Safe Schools For Alex, a nonprofit organization founded in memory of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting victim Alex Schachter, is hosting a Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The event will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Diadem Pickleball Complex in Coconut Creek, promising a day filled with fun, fitness, and philanthropy.
Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to join, as the tournament will follow a ladder-style doubles format, matching players based on their abilities. With no age or gender restrictions, individuals can sign up solo, making it an ideal opportunity for both seasoned players and newcomers eager to engage in a lively sport while supporting a vital cause.
The entry fee is set at $100 per player, with all proceeds directed towards Safe Schools For Alex’s mission. The organization aims to provide essential school safety resources and best practices to students, parents, school districts, and law enforcement across the nation.
“This tournament is not just about playing pickleball; it’s about coming together as a community to ensure our schools are safer for everyone,” said Max Schachter, founder of Safe Schools For Alex. “We invite everyone to join us in this important cause.”
For those interested in participating or volunteering, more information can be found on the Safe Schools For Alex website.
As the community rallies for this important initiative, the Pickleball Tournament promises to be a memorable event that combines sport with a significant purpose—making schools safer for future generations.
