The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) is making big moves in 2025 with the announcement of an expanded tournament calendar featuring nearly 50 competitions throughout the year. The highlight of the calendar will be the 14 nationally televised APP Tour events with increased prize purses.
In its seventh season, the APP Tour will also be making a significant change by moving its headquarters to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This move signifies the growth and success of the organization as it looks to double the number of competitions in 2025. The calendar will include four APP Tour Majors, eight USA Pickleball “Golden Ticket” tournaments, the APP Women’s Open, and the APP U.S. Collegiate Championships. With over 20 new competitions at the pro and amateur levels, there will be plenty of opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to showcase their skills.
Founder of the APP, Ken Herrmann, expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, stating, “The experiences the APP provides for pickleball players, across all ages and all abilities, sets the standard in pickleball worldwide. We remain committed to delivering the absolute best experience for all players and paving the way for America’s future pickleball stars.”
In addition to the increased number of competitions, the APP Tour will also be expanding its linear broadcast schedule to more than 55 hours in 2025. This will give fans more access to pickleball’s biggest moments and help elevate the sport to new heights. The APP Next Gen schedule will also see an expansion, providing aspiring pickleballers aged 23 and younger with more opportunities to compete and develop their skills.
Overall, the APP’s growth and expansion in 2025 are a testament to the increasing popularity and appeal of pickleball. With a focus on providing the best experience for players and fans alike, the APP is leading the way in the sport’s development and paving the path for future pickleball stars.
