AWARE, Inc., a nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Jackson County, Michigan, is hosting the Pickleball for a Purpose Tournament on July 25–26 at the Hurst Pickleball Complex in Cascades Park. The two-day event features a youth tournament on Friday with age groups 6–12 and 13–17, offering cash prizes and a fun round-robin doubles format, followed by an adult tournament on Saturday open to all skill levels. Entry fees start at $20 and include event perks like T-shirts and food.
The fundraiser aims to raise money for AWARE’s shelter, counseling, and advocacy services. Alongside the matches, attendees can enjoy food trucks, raffles, a silent auction, and children’s activities. All proceeds directly support AWARE’s mission to help survivors heal and rebuild their lives, making the event a community effort to provide safety and support beyond the competition.
