Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Launches Exciting Pickleball Clinics for All Ages

WARSAW — Get ready to serve up some fun this summer! The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to announce a series of engaging pickleball clinics designed for both children and adults, led by experienced instructor Dave Thieme.

Kids Pickleball Clinics: A Free Opportunity for Young Athletes

Starting June 16, kids aged 8 to 12 are invited to participate in free youth pickleball clinics at the K21 Courts in Bixler Park, located at 503 N. Detroit St. These clinics will run from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16; Wednesday, June 18; and Friday, June 20.

While the program is free, preregistration is essential, as no day-of signups will be accepted. Registration opened on May 19 and will remain open until June 12, unless filled. Children can attend as many sessions as they wish, but each clinic is designed to build upon the previous one, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Adult Pickleball Clinics: Learn the Fastest Growing Sport in America

For adults looking to dive into the world of pickleball, the Parks Department is offering a variety of clinics that cater to different skill levels. Each session will provide personalized attention in small groups, ensuring that every participant gets the most out of their experience.

The adult clinics will take place at the same location, with the following schedule:

• Intro to Pickleball: 5:30-6:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 11
• Instruct & Play: 5:30-6:45 p.m. Thursday, June 12
• Better Backhand Shots: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24
• Drive or Drop: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26

Each session has a cost per person and requires registration, which is open from May 19 through June 9, unless filled. With a maximum of 10 players per session, participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
