Pickleball Adopts GNG Machine for Paddle Testing to Ensure Fair Play at Amateur and Professional Levels

Posted In:

Three major pickleball organizations—DUPR, the United Pickleball Association (UPA-A), and PickleballTournaments.com—have jointly adopted the Go-No-Go (GNG) Machine as the official device for testing paddle compliance at both professional and amateur levels. This move aims to ensure fairness and integrity in the sport by verifying that all paddles meet deflection standards, thereby creating a level playing field where skill determines outcomes rather than equipment advantages. DUPR will implement the GNG Machine at top-tier amateur events to support data-driven analytics and build trust scores for players and manufacturers.

UPA-A will use the GNG Machine across its premier events worldwide, including the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball, while PickleballTournaments.com will enforce paddle compliance at thousands of amateur tournaments through its platform. The rollout begins immediately and will expand across multiple countries, reinforcing competitive integrity and standardizing paddle testing in pickleball globally.
