King, like many Americans, took up pickleball after retiring and was drawn to the sport’s social aspect and physical benefits. However, she soon discovered that pickleball can be more physically demanding than anticipated.

Liam Globensky, a physical therapist, warns that pickleball injuries can occur when players push themselves too hard or fail to properly condition their bodies for the sport. Overuse injuries, such as “pickleball elbow,” are also common among players who play frequently.
