Pickle in the Peaks Tournament Draws Over 250 Players in Summit County

Pickleball continues to surge in popularity, particularly in Summit County, where the local community has embraced the sport enthusiastically. The Summit County Pickleball Association hosts two annual tournaments, including the recent sixth annual Pickle in the Peaks event held from July 17-19, 2025. This tournament attracted over 250 players across 145 teams, featuring a new 70-plus age category due to high local interest. Many local players, including Summit High School students, earned medals in various divisions.

The tournament showcased a wide range of competitive categories, from open doubles to age-specific and mixed divisions, with numerous winners recognized across skill levels from 2.5 to 4.5. The event highlights the growing engagement and community spirit around pickleball in the region, reflecting the sport’s expansion since the pandemic and the transformation of unused spaces into active pickleball courts.
