“Pickle in the Land Tournament Draws Participants from Across North America”
The Pickle in the Land tournament is set to take place at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland from December 13-15, 2024, and it is shaping up to be a thrilling event with over 720 participants from 21 U.S. States, DC, and Canada registered to compete.
Presented by Nature Stone Flooring, the tournament is not just for players, as it is free and open to the public. Spectators can enjoy a vendor village with sampling, giveaways, interactive activities, a live broadcast from Rock Entertainment Sports Network, food and beverage options, and competitive pickleball matches throughout the day.
In addition to the tournament, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission’s Youth Education through Sports (YES) Pickleball Program, presented by The Sherwin-Williams Company, will be held on Saturday, December 14. This program aims to provide under-resourced youth in northeast Ohio with experiences that showcase how sports can empower and prepare individuals for success in life.
The clinic will offer a free day of programming for 150 participants aged 8-16 from various local youth-serving organizations. Participants will learn the basics of pickleball, watch the Pickle in the Land competition, explore vendors on-site, and engage in activities focused on health and wellness. They will also receive lunch and equipment to continue practicing the sport.
As part of the event, GCSC is hosting a pickleball themed Equipment Drive to give back to the community and expand the sport for both children and adults. New or gently used items such as pickleball paddles, balls, carrying bags, and practice equipment will be collected at the Convention Center from December 13-15.
Overall, the Pickle in the Land tournament promises to be a fun and engaging event for players and spectators alike, showcasing the growing popularity of pickleball in the region.
