Alabaster City Council Approves Grant Application for Additional Pickleball Courts at Patriots Park

The Alabaster City Council is making strides to meet the growing demand for pickleball in the community by approving a grant application for additional courts at Patriots Park. The decision to add three more pickleball courts comes after the sport has gained popularity nationwide and has been well-received by Alabaster residents at the existing courts.

City Administrator Brian Binzer expressed excitement about the expansion, noting that there is often a line out the door at Patriots Park for pickleball. The new courts are planned to be placed next to the current ones, providing more space for players to enjoy the game.

In addition to the pickleball court expansion, the City Council also approved a bid for improvements to the Waste Water Treatment Plant pumps and agreed to contribute funds to support the 2023 Alabaster Jubilee and 2024 Alabaster CityFest hosted by the Alabaster Arts Council.

Overall, the Alabaster City Council is focused on meeting the needs of its residents and enhancing recreational opportunities in the community. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting developments in Alabaster.
