A new $1.2 million Good Shepherd Pickleball Complex is opening on June 14 at Theater Sports Park in Hermiston, featuring 10 fenced courts, including the Pacific Northwest’s only fully wheelchair-accessible courts. The grand opening event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will include a ceremonial first serve, free pickleball classes, and complimentary refreshments, inviting players of all ages to enjoy this premier regional facility operated by Hermiston Parks and Recreation.

The project, funded through community donations and in-kind labor, exemplifies a successful public-private partnership between the city and Good Shepherd Health Care System. The complex offers LED lighting, spectator seating, a championship court, and daily open play from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., promoting wellness and physical activity while enhancing Hermiston’s recreational amenities and regional appeal.
