Dodgers Star Mookie Betts Talks Pickleball Passion
Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts is known for his incredible feats on the baseball field, but did you know he’s also a big fan of pickleball? During a recent ESPN Sunday Night Baseball telecast, Betts revealed his love for the paddle sport, calling it “his jam.”
Pickleball has been gaining popularity in recent years, with millions of participants and being named the fastest-growing sport for two consecutive years. Despite his busy baseball schedule, Betts finds time to play pickleball at random parks and with people of all ages, from 10 to 80 years old.
Betts enjoys the social aspect of pickleball, saying, “I love the hang. You get to talk to people and get to meet people. A lot of people have fire in them, especially in pickleball. They get really mad, which I love.”
When asked if his teammate Shohei Ohtani plays pickleball, Betts humorously replied, “I don’t know. But I’m sure if Shohei played it, he’d probably be the best at that, too.”
So, next time you’re at a park playing pickleball, keep an eye out for Mookie Betts – you never know who you might run into on the court!
