The Town of Newton Recreation Department, in partnership with TJD Sports Academy, has introduced new pickleball lessons at Memory Park, offering programs for both adults and youth throughout July and August. Adult sessions are available on Sundays and Mondays, catering to various skill levels from beginners to intermediate players, with costs of $125 per participant. Additionally, a youth camp for ages 8 to 13 will run from August 25 to 28, providing a focused introduction to the sport.
These programs aim to accommodate all skill levels and reflect the growing community interest in pickleball. By providing structured lessons and a welcoming environment, the initiative encourages healthy, active lifestyles and is expected to increase park attendance, inspire ongoing practice, and potentially lead to participation in future tournaments or leagues.
