Exciting New Junior Program Launch at Calgary Pickleball Club – Media Event Invitation

The Calgary Pickleball Club is making waves in the sports and recreation scene with its innovative approach to the game. What was once considered a sport for retirees has now become a family affair, with kids like 10-year-old Peyton challenging his parents and even his 70-year-old grandma to intense pickleball matches.

Thanks to the support from a Province of Alberta Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Grant, the Calgary Pickleball Club has launched a junior players’ program for ages 8-17. This program aims to introduce youth to the sport through lessons, tournaments, and clinics, with no experience or equipment required.

The club is hosting a Junior Program kick-off event on Sunday, March 30th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Calgary Pickleball Centre. Media are invited to film, photograph, and interview junior and senior players, including Peyton’s family, to showcase the growing popularity of pickleball among different generations.

This initiative by the Calgary Pickleball Club is not only promoting physical activity and family bonding but also breaking stereotypes about who can participate in competitive sports. With pickleball becoming more accessible and inclusive, it’s no surprise that this sport is gaining popularity among a diverse range of players.
