AmBank Group Launches AmBank Malaysia Pickleball Championship 2025: Uniting Malaysians Through Sport and Community

AmBank Group Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Inaugural Malaysia Pickleball Championship 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: In a bid to unite Malaysians through sport, culture, and community, AmBank Group has announced the launch of the AmBank Malaysia Pickleball Championship 2025 in celebration of its golden jubilee.

The inaugural national tournament, scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 1 at Pickle Nation, aims to bring together 500 players of all skill levels for a three-day event under the theme of ‘Malaysia Kita’.

More than just a competition, the championship is a tribute to community, diversity, and youth empowerment, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia’s sports landscape. Powered by SCORE Sports Management, the tournament reflects the growing popularity of pickleball, one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.

Shazman Shahid, Head of Group Corporate Communications and Marketing at AmBank Group, expressed the organization’s commitment to promoting active living and Malaysian spirit through the championship.

“We want to celebrate our 50th anniversary by bringing ‘Malaysia Kita’ together through sport and community. This championship aims to unite an active community through a fun and uplifting sport, champion healthier lifestyles, nurture youth sportsmanship, and highlight the spirit of ‘Malaysia Kita’,” said Shahid.

One of the highlights of the championship is a dedicated youth coaching session on June 1, tailored to beginners and aimed at introducing young Malaysians to pickleball through drills, team games, and fun exhibition matches led by experienced players.

In line with its sustainability efforts, AmBank is exploring eco-conscious activities such as a sneaker recycling initiative to transform used sports shoes into material for community tracks or court surfaces, raising awareness about recycling and environmental impact through sport.

Additionally, AmBank is inviting all Malaysians to participate in the AmBank 50th Pickleball Relay Challenge, a nationwide virtual relay to “pass the pickleball” across the country, encouraging unity, participation, and nationwide excitement ahead of the main event.

Registration for the championship is now open via Pickleball Global, and for more updates, interested individuals can follow AmBank Malaysia on social media or visit the official event website.
