Malaysia is set to host the WPC Asia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 from July 16 to 20 at The Pickle Grounds rooftop venue in Petaling Jaya, marking the largest pickleball event in Asia with over 1,500 players from more than 16 countries and an expected 3,000 spectators. This milestone event, featuring a RM120,000 prize pool, will be the first Asian Grand Slam and part of the global Pickleball Global digital platform, enhancing international rankings and visibility for local players. Top competitors include reigning champions from India and the Philippines, alongside Malaysia’s rising stars, highlighting the country’s position as a top-three nation globally in pickleball participation.
The tournament also serves as a significant boost to Malaysia’s sports tourism, expected to generate around MYR 13 million in economic impact and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. Alongside the competition, the event will debut the Asia Pickleball Industry Summit and the Pickleball Boulevard festival, featuring social courts, wellness showcases, and local cultural experiences. Endorsed by major pickleball federations and supported by prominent brands and media, the Grand Slam aims to position Malaysia as a leading hub for pickleball and international wellness travel in Asia.
