KUCHING, May 15: The recreational park at Lorong 2, Stampin Resettlement Scheme, is set to receive another boost with the construction of a pickleball court, a new spectator platform, and exercise equipment under a fresh RM100,000 Rural Transformation Project (RTP).
In continuing his commitment to upgrading community infrastructure in Kota Sentosa, assemblyman Wilfred Yap, accompanied by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) officers, visited the site to oversee the project’s implementation.
According to a press statement today, this latest RTP initiative builds upon the successful completion of a previous project, which saw the construction of a futsal court at the park nine months ago.
During the visit, Yap also requested MBKS’s assistance to carry out repainting works on the futsal court floor, which has shown signs of wear due to heavy usage since its completion.
“Our goal is to provide accessible and high-quality recreational facilities for all residents in Kota Sentosa.
“The addition of a pickleball court, improved viewing areas for those watching futsal matches, and modern exercise equipment will encourage a healthier and more active lifestyle among the community,” he said.
He added that the RTP project reflects a hands-on and people-centric development approach, reaffirming his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents through thoughtful infrastructure investments.
Yap also expressed his appreciation to MBKS for their continuous support and cooperation, which has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of development projects in the area.
This latest RTP initiative underscores Yap’s consistent efforts to improve public amenities in the Stampin Resettlement Scheme and ensure that government funding is translated into tangible community benefits. — DayakDaily
