Young Bowlers from Port Angeles Dominate Tournaments in Mount Vernon and Silverdale
Young bowlers Dennis Tisdale and Dillon Tisdale of Port Angeles are making waves in the bowling world with their recent victories at two tournaments this month. Dillon, 7, clinched first place in the U8 boys scratch division, while his older brother Dennis, 9, secured second place in the U10 boys scratch division at a tournament held at Riverside Lanes in Mount Vernon.
Their impressive performances have earned them a spot in the upcoming Washington State USBC Pepsi Youth Championships, scheduled for April 26-27 at Triangle Bowl in Longview. The brothers also showcased their skills at the Westsound USBC Youth Championship Bowling Tournament, where they triumphed in the doubles handicap event in the 144 and under division.
In addition to their doubles win, Dennis finished fourth and Dillon sixth in the handicap singles event in the 144 and Under division. The talented siblings, who attend Queen of Angels School, have proven themselves as rising stars in the bowling community.
Meanwhile, in the world of pickleball, teams from Forks, Sequim, and Port Angeles faced off at Roosevelt Elementary School in Port Angeles for the Olympic Pickleball tournament. The competition was fierce, with the Port Angeles team of Mark Pasola and Steve Bennett claiming gold in the men’s doubles category.
In the women’s doubles event, Jennie Heilman and Sherry Gyovia of Port Angeles emerged victorious, while in the mixed doubles categories, teams from Port Angeles showcased their skills and took home top honors. The tournament was a display of talent and sportsmanship, with players from different communities coming together to compete in the fast-growing sport of pickleball.
