Fourth Annual Rally in the Valley Pickleball Tournament Draws Over 200 Players from Across the Country

The fourth annual Rally in the Valley pickleball tournament is set to take place in Salida’s Centennial Park from September 6-8, attracting over 200 players from Colorado and 10 other states. The event, hosted by the Peak to Peak Pickleball Club, will feature women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and men’s doubles competitions with play starting at 8 a.m. each day.

Peak to Peak Pickleball Club, which has over 450 members, is dedicated to promoting and facilitating pickleball in Chaffee County. The tournament is organized by more than 50 club volunteers and supported by 28 sponsors, including Mariner Wealth Advisors as the executive sponsor.

Pickleball, a hybrid sport created in 1965, has quickly gained popularity in the U.S. and is now considered the fastest-growing sport in the country. With millions of American pickleball players, there is a growing movement to have the sport included in future Olympic Games, with hopes for the 2032 Games in Brisbane, Australia.

The tournament in Salida will not only showcase the skills of pickleball players from across the country but also highlight the community’s dedication to the sport with ongoing efforts to build more courts in the area. With a strong support system from sponsors and volunteers, the Rally in the Valley promises to be an exciting and competitive event for all participants.
