Elevation Athletics Expanding Youth Pickleball Programs in Oro-Medonte
Elevation Athletics, a non-profit company based in Newmarket, is expanding its pickleball programs to include youth lessons in Oro-Medonte. The demand for youth programs has been steadily increasing, prompting the organization to offer lessons for children between the ages of 10 and 17.
Stephanie Merrick, lead administrator for Elevation Athletics, expressed excitement about the new youth program, highlighting the inclusive nature of pickleball as a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. The pilot project will run on Thursdays from February 20 to March 20 at East Oro Public School, with plans to expand to other areas in the future.
Elevation Athletics is known for its adult pickleball programs in Newmarket and York Region, and has recently expanded into Simcoe County. The company has faced challenges in securing gym space for its programs, but continues to work towards providing opportunities for players of all ages.
The youth pickleball lessons at East Oro Public School will cost $130.30 for eight hours of instruction and play. The program requires a minimum of eight players to run, with space for up to 12 participants.
