#BorneoPickleball International Tournament Set to Make History in Kuching, Malaysia
Sarawak, Malaysia is set to host the #BorneoPickleball International Tournament, the largest pickleball competition in Malaysia and Borneo with a prize pool of RM20,000. The tournament, scheduled to take place in Kuching from October 9 to 12, is expected to attract around 500 players and 2,000 visitors from the region.
The Kuching Pickleball Association, in collaboration with BESarawak, is organizing the tournament, with BESarawak serving as the Exclusive Strategic Advisor. The event has received endorsements from the Malaysia Pickleball Association, Sarawak Pickleball Association, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak, and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak.
Pickleball, known for its inclusivity across all ages and abilities, aims to foster interaction among diverse industries and communities. The tournament is open to corporate organizations, public sectors, associations, clubs, and individuals interested in participating.
The tournament will feature three categories: Open (Team) category, Women’s Single category, and Novice category, with various subcategories and registration fees. Prizes range from RM125 to RM10,000, including medals and trophies.
In addition to the competition, the tournament will also include the ‘Books Build Legacy’ corporate social responsibility program, aiming to donate 2,000 books to rural schools in Sarawak.
