Grand Opening of Big Orange Pickleball’s New Location at 7729 Strawberry Plains Pike
Big Orange Pickleball (BOP) is set to make a grand entrance into the Knoxville pickleball scene with the opening of its new state-of-the-art facility on Strawberry Plains Pike. The grand opening, scheduled for Friday, November 1, at 10 a.m., will be marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by the Knoxville Chamber.
The owners, Wayne and Kim Hodge, along with John and Kelly Seivers, have spared no expense in creating a top-notch venue for pickleball enthusiasts. The facility boasts six SportMaster cushioned courts, each designed with six layers of rubber for a more comfortable playing experience with less stress on the body.
One of the standout features of BOP is its climate-controlled environment, maintained between 68-71 degrees, ensuring players can enjoy their game without the interference of outdoor elements like wind, rain, or sun. Customized LED uplighting adds to the ambiance, optimizing ball tracking and reducing glare, while 8-foot nets between courts prevent interference from stray balls.
Managing and teaching at BOP is Cassie Quast, a pickleball professional with experience playing against some of the top pros in the game. With certifications as a PPR Certified Pro, Cassie brings a wealth of knowledge to the facility, ensuring players receive top-notch instruction.
Wayne and Kim Hodge, both longtime residents of Knoxville, saw the need for a more convenient pickleball facility in the area and decided to take matters into their own hands. “We are excited to provide not only a convenient location for our local pickleball enthusiasts but also a facility that exceeds expectations with climate control and an in-house pro shop,” the Hodges stated in a press release.
The grand opening of BOP promises to be a celebration of pickleball excellence, with light refreshments provided for attendees. Don’t miss the chance to experience one of the premier indoor pickleball venues in the nation at its grand opening on November 1.
