Obituary for Matthew R. Eyler, Beloved Husband, Father, and Community Member
The community of Jasper is mourning the loss of a beloved member, Matthew R. Eyler, who passed away at the age of 40 on Friday, January 10, 2025. Matt, as he was known to many, was a dedicated husband, father, coach, and friend who touched the lives of those around him in countless ways.
Born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Matt was a talented athlete and a man of many trades. From playing multiple sports to owning his own business, he was known for his hard work and dedication in everything he did. He was also actively involved in coaching youth sports, making a positive impact on the community and always being there to lend a helping hand.
Described as full of life with a contagious personality, Matt’s presence could light up a room. He enjoyed playing sports with his family and friends, especially golf and pickleball, and was a devoted family man above all else.
Matt leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Abra, and their two sons, Noah and Camden, as well as his mother, sister, and extended family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with visitation scheduled for the day prior. Memorial contributions can be made to various organizations in his memory.
The loss of Matthew R. Eyler has left a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for his family and community will live on. May he rest in peace.
