Pickleball Sunday League: Revolutionizing Sports in Kashmir with WHS Sports Hub
The picturesque valleys of Jammu and Kashmir are set to witness a sporting revolution with the introduction of the Pickleball Sunday League by the WHS Sports Hub in Srinagar. The region’s first dedicated pickleball courts are now open, marking a significant step towards popularizing the world’s fastest-growing sport in the state.
The initiative to bring pickleball to Kashmir is driven by a desire to provide innovative sports opportunities for the youth of the region. By creating a space specifically for pickleball, the WHS Sports Hub aims to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive pickleball community.
At the heart of this endeavor is the Pickleball Sunday League, a key component of WHS Sports Hub’s strategy to promote the sport. Viraj Singh, co-founder of WHS Sports Hub, shared the inspiration behind the league in an exclusive interview with Pickleball Now.
“We wanted to give back to society after being in the education sector for over 60 years and running one of the oldest schools in J&K. We introduced pickleball as it is one of the fastest-growing sports globally. Our aim is to build a community around pickleball in the state through initiatives like the Sunday League,” said Singh.
Looking ahead, WHS Sports Hub envisions a future where pickleball thrives as a prominent sport in Jammu and Kashmir. By expanding the number of courts, training coaches, and organizing workshops, they hope to inspire the next generation and create a dynamic pickleball community in the region.
“We plan to host multiple events, workshops, and eventually national and international tournaments to put J&K on the map of pickleball. With the support of the government and sports organizations, we aim to establish pickleball as a national-level sport and build a strong ecosystem around it,” Singh added.
The launch of the Pickleball Sunday League and the establishment of dedicated courts in Srinagar signal a new era for sports enthusiasts in Jammu and Kashmir. With a vision for growth and development, WHS Sports Hub is poised to make pickleball a game-changer in the region’s sporting landscape.
