Indian Pickleball Association Partners with Law Community for Premier League Initiative
Indian Pickleball Association Officially Recognized as Governing Body, Launches Unique League for Lawyers
In a landmark development for the burgeoning sport of pickleball in India, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has officially recognized the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) as the sport’s governing body. This recognition marks a significant milestone in the promotion and regulation of pickleball across the nation, paving the way for greater participation and international events, including the upcoming Pickleball Asia Cup 2025, which will be hosted in India.
In an exciting twist, the IPA has partnered with the LawStrings Pickleball Premier League to launch the inaugural Lawyer’s Edition of the league. This innovative collaboration aims to bring together legal professionals from across the country, allowing them to engage in competitive sports while fostering community connections. The two-day event is set to take place on May 24-25 at the Rackonnect Exclusive Padel Pickle Park in South Delhi.
Shubham Malhotra, a lawyer with nearly a decade of experience, spearheaded this initiative. “The legal industry is largely about networking,” he explained. “I wanted to create something where lawyers could engage in a fun activity that not only benefits them physically but also provides an opportunity to network with one another.” His vision is to blend the thrill of sports with professional camaraderie, making pickleball accessible to a wider audience.
The IPA’s involvement ensures that the league will be organized to the highest standards, leveraging its expertise in hosting and promoting pickleball tournaments. This partnership underscores the IPA’s mission to expand the sport’s reach beyond traditional athletic circles, showcasing its adaptability and appeal to diverse communities.
As pickleball continues to gain traction in India, the IPA’s recognition as a Class A member of the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) further solidifies its role in the sport’s development. The association is tasked with regulating and advancing pickleball nationwide, a responsibility it embraces with enthusiasm.
With the Lawyer’s Edition of the Pickleball Premier League, the IPA is not just promoting a sport; it is fostering a vibrant community of legal professionals who can enjoy the health benefits of physical activity while building valuable connections. As the sport continues to grow, the IPA’s efforts are sure to inspire more individuals to pick up a paddle and join the pickleball revolution in India.
